Drilling waste is a regulatory liability from the moment cuttings leave the shakers. NEXA Energy & Support Services provides zero-harm, fully compliant management of drilling waste, from the rig floor to final treatment or disposal, for land, swamp and offshore operations across Nigeria.
Collection and Transfer
We collect drilled cuttings and spent fluids at the source and transfer them under controlled handling, so waste is contained, tracked and documented from the wellsite onward.
Treatment Technologies
- Cuttings dryers to recover drilling fluid and reduce the volume and oil content of waste
- Thermal desorption to separate hydrocarbons from cuttings
- Stabilisation to immobilise contaminants before disposal
- Bioremediation to break down residual hydrocarbons biologically
Logistics and Disposal Routes
- Skip-and-ship logistics for offshore and remote locations
- Cuttings re-injection (CRI) support where it is the preferred disposal route
Regulatory Compliance
Every waste stream is managed in compliance with NUPRC, NESREA and EGASPIN requirements (the Environmental Guidelines and Standards for the Petroleum Industry in Nigeria). Operators get documentation that stands up to regulatory audit.
Integrated with Solids Control and Fluids
Waste volumes are set upstream. When NEXA also runs solids control and drilling fluids engineering, lower dilution means less waste to treat, which cuts both cost and environmental footprint.
Compliance and Local Content
NEXA is 100% Nigerian-owned. We operate in line with NUPRC requirements and NCDMB Nigerian Content obligations under the NOGICD Act 2010, and we work to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
